A while ago residents of Yunusari local government area (LGA) reported incidence of flooding to YOSEMA. Subsequently, the agency conducted routine assessments of the damage, and thereafter reached out to its partners including the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
With support from NEMA, Yobe state government has eventually provided releif materials to over 250 flood victims across Yunusari LGA. Communities covered include Kanamma, Toshia, Dilala, Yunusari, Mazaun, Kafiya, Zajibiriri, Bultuwa, Dagaltura, Garin gada and Ngremari.
Precisely, relief materials were distributed between the 3rd and 4th of November, 2020. Each beneficiary received a number of items including but not limited to:
- Bags of cement
- Bundle of roofing zinc
- Ceiling sheets
- 3 inch nails
- Mattress
- Detergent
- Mosquito net
- Blanket
- Tinned tomato
- Bag of rice (12.5kg)
- Bag of maize (25kg)
- Bag of beans (12.5kg)
- Cooking oil
- Textile (Wax print)
- 2/4, 2/3 wood
- Packs of maggi seasoning
- Roofing nail
