Yobe State Commissioner of Humanitarian affairs and Disaster Management led other stakeholders to HDP workshop

The workshop aims to strategically improve the implementation of aid efforts by HDP actors across the BAY states in line with the principles of the HDP Nexus/The New Way of Working to promote sustainable efforts and the consolidation of peace. The consultative workshop will call for collaborative efforts by Humanitarian, Development, and Peace actors to ensure lasting and sustained efforts at stabilization in areas affected by a conflict-driven crisis. The focus will be on collective outcomes that address immediate humanitarian needs combined with efforts at sustainable development that also address key conflict drivers and risk factors to build a more stable and peaceful future for people across the BAY State’s.

The event brings together key stakeholders at the Abuja level and across the BAY states that encompass civil society, the International NGO Community, United Nations, the Nigerian Government, and Donor Agencies.

In Yobe, The Hon. Commissioner, Executive Secretary SEMA, representative of MOWA, Yobe Network for civil society, 3 National NGOs were at the workshop.

The Workshop consist of a variety of facilitated processes, plenary sessions, panel group discussions, and syndicate group work. Opportunities to share experiences, opinions, frustrations, and recommendations for the current state of operation across Borno, Adamawa and Yobe State. The workshop is organized by ActionAid Nigeria.
