Yobe State Delegation Attends 5th LCBC Governors forum planning Technical Session in Ndjamena CHAD.

Yobe Secretary to the STate Government SSG Alhaji Baba Malam Wali mni led Technical Session on Development of Concept Note, Theme and Agenda for the 5th Lake Chad Basin Governors Forum in N’djamena.

Yobe State delegation led by SSG Alhaji Baba Malam Wali Mni join other Lake chad States in the development of concept note, agenda and Theam for the forthcoming 5th Governors Forum to be held in October 2024.

The event, which took place in N’djamena Chad, brings together technical persons from 8 LCB states of Niger,Cameroon, Chad, Nigeria. The 2 days of brainstorming yielded a draft document consisting of both agenda, concept, and details responsible persons for all deliberation ahead of the forthcoming governors forum.

The objectives of the technical meeting include:

  1. Articulate the overall conceptual focus and identify themes for the Fourth Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum.
  2. Identify the key strategic issues that the forum will address.
  3. Agree on the roles of each governor for the forum, including the thematic sessions of interest per governor.
  4. Validate the forum process, format, roles, and responsibilities, including agreement on the number of participants to attend from the stakeholders invited to participate.

The following are the outcomes from the workshop:

  1. Draft Concept Note for the next Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum.
  2. Draft Programme for the next Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum. •
  3. Presentation and validation of the next Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum process and format.

At the end of the session, Yobe SSG visited the executive Secretary of LCBC at their headquaters and deliberated on plan and possibilities of Yobe hosting the next forum in Nigeria.

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni CON is expected to host the next forum in Nigeria by october 2024
