Yobe Hosts Adamawa Delegation for Technical Exchange on Security Planning.
Strengthening Regional Security and Recovery

From October 15–17, 2025, Yobe State hosted a high-level technical exchange mission by the Adamawa State Security Planning and Coordinating Group (SPCG). The three-day visit aimed to strengthen inter-state collaboration on security planning, coordination, and durable solutions for displaced populations.

Led by senior government officials—including the Hon. Commissioners for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation & Resettlement and Humanitarian affairs, Permanent secretary security and cabinet and Local Government Affairs, the Special Adviser on Security Matters to Adamawa State Governor and the Executive Secretary of ADSEMA—the delegation was warmly received by Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Security Adviser to Yobe State Governor and other strategic partners.

The visit featured joint planning sessions, policy dialogues, and field engagements, including a courtesy call to His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe State Hon Mai Mala Buni CON ably represented by His Excellency the Deputy Governor Hon Idi Barde Gubana (wazirin Fune) and a field mission to Garin Kolo relocation site in Nangere LGA, where the team observed ongoing recovery and reintegration efforts linking security and Durable Solution.

Speaking during the engagements, Yobe State Government underscored that security remains a prerequisite for sustainable return, relocation, and reintegration, reaffirming Governor Mai Mala Buni’s vision that “Durable solutions cannot exist without security, and security cannot be sustained without development.”

The technical exchange further aligned with Yobe’s strategy of linking the State Security Planning & Coordination Group (SPCG) with the Durable Solutions Secretariat, ensuring that safety, stabilization, and recovery efforts move hand-in-hand toward achieving safe, dignified, and sustainable pathways for displaced persons.

Yobe SEMA expressed appreciation to the Adamawa delegation for their collaboration and to all security agencies and partners supporting joint resilience and stabilization initiatives across the Northeast.
