Yobe SEMA under the sponsorship of SPDC, and in line with the directive of His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni, has carried vital projects at Damaturu and Fika local governments of Yobe state.
Specifically, the projects include the installation of nine solar powered water boreholes (ranging between 180 to 450 meters depth), and the construction of sixteen accessible toilet facilities for both male and female populace of the region.
As a pilot project, Fika and Damaturu were selected due to the peculiar number of IDPs they are currently hosting. As a matter of fact the huge number of IDPs settling in these two areas of the state have made it necessary to compliment existing facilities.
As the projects reached 80% completion, the Executive Secretary SEMA, Dr Goje Mohammed visited the locations for quality assurance and monitoring. The project locations are as detailed below:
