Towards a Durable Solution Model, Yobe SEMA, UNDP in Nigeria meets Mallumdunari Community Stakeholders.

 

Towards developing a model for durable solution for internal displacement, His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni CON has since taken steps towards ensuring a state Action Plan is developed for partners keyed in.

 

The plan for a Durable solution to MallumDunari, the only community yet to return in Yobe state requires all hands on deck. UNDP amongst other partners have initiated conversations around safe return of Mallam Dunari in line with the UN Secretary General’s Action Agenda on Internal Displacement.

 

UNDP and Yobe SEMA continue to engage with the stakeholders from Mallam Dunari on the ensuring a safer and sustainable return back to their ancestral home which is in line with His Excellency’s agenda on dignified and sustainable return.

 

The aim is to sit with relevant community stakeholders (Women, youth, economic and elders groups, IDP head, religious leaders) to further have an in-depth overview of the socioeconomic status of the community as government plans for safe return, reintegration and relocation.
