On the 3rd day of SOKSEMA 5 days Learning visit to Yobe, Yobe SEMA led SOKSEMA on advocacy to the office of the security Adviser to His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni CON. The meeting was aimed at understanding the synergy between Security agencies and SEMA in responding to emergencies.
Gen Abdussalam Abubakar RTD took the team through history of Yobe post insurgency recovery from the Security angle and synergy that yielded results. He called on SOKSEMA to be proactive, extend advocacy to all Security agencies and ensure safety of thier staff first in every response.
SOKSEMA were later taken round SEMA warehouses to see practical log stocking and dispatch, reviewed Store books and learn records keeping and logistics management.
Last on the itinerary was a field visit to a vulnerable persons settlement at the outskirt of Damaturu. The team jointly using software conducted assessment and registered 120 HH from both host community and IDP self settlement.
Each member of the team from SOKSEMA registered 10HH which the data will later be analysed and response given to the community later before the end of the visit.
The SOKSEMA Team leader while thanking Yobe SEMA for the success recorded so far, said they look foward for more intresting last 2 days as they conclude the Learning visit.
