SEMA to Empower 150 Households with Fish Farming Kits to increase Household Income
As part of an ongoing Livelihood support to low income earners across vulnerable communities, Yobe SEMA on 16th June 2023 in 3rd phase of its Livelihood support, identified and empowered 150 Households with backyard Fish Farming Kits.
Earlier in April and May, over 400 Households were supported with Sewing and Grinding Machines across selected communities.
As directed by His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni, this kit and other empowerment packages targeting vulnerable population is aimed at closing gaps especially during Cashless policy and now the fish Farming as a pilot to increase Household income and close gaps due to commodity price increase.
Each Beneficiary goes home with a combination of
Water tank
4 buckets
Nets
Fish Air Vibrator
A bag of Fish Feed
And Juvenile Fish
Experts will be engaged by SEMA to monitor beneficiaries and support their takeup.
