Yesterday 22nd May 2024, The Executive Secretary of SEMA on behalf of State Government led an Emergency Coordination meeting with UN Agencies and INGOs operating in Yobe State. The aim of the meeting is amongst others to appreciate their support in complementing Government effort, assured them of enabling environment to operate and further deliberated on the need to strengthen communication amongst sectors, Line MDAs and central Government.

The meeting further emphasized the need for UN and INGOs to ensure the localization drive is sustained and ensure locals are encouragedto participate in the competitive recruitment process

ES further said, the state leadership advocates for transparency and fairness across organizations’ recruitment processes and encourages humanitarian partners to consider Yobe indigenes to ensure equal opportunities.

SEMA proposes to organize a seminar for youths on recruitment processes within organizations to provide them with insight into the procedures and increase their chances of participation in recruitment processes. This initiative aims to empower the local populace with relevant information and facilitate their engagement in humanitarian efforts within the state.

All UN partners and INGOs operating in Yobe State that participate in the meeting commended YBSG effort for the enabling environment provided and assured SEMA AND YBSG of thier continued support and commitment in saving lives in line with the Humanitarian Principles.
