SEMA Fuels 36 BOREHOLES (13 Government and 23 Private) in IDP returnee Community of Buni Yadi.

The recent power outage due to vandalization of the National Grid Cable pole has led to decreese power supply in some parts of the state.

Buni Yadi an IDP returnees Community who prio to the vandalization enjoys over 20hrs of electricity supply daily NOW recieve lest than an hour in days.

While Government is making effort in reconnecting the town, access to portable drinking water with majority of Boreholes depending on electricity is becoming a big challenge.

Yobe SEMA having recieved report from community stakeholders and IDPs representatives rolls out plan to cushion the hardship the community is passing through while lasting solution is being intensified.

Each borehole will receive 10 litres of fuel per day to be able to power the borehole for at least 4 hours daily, which will approximately discharge over 4000 litres of water daily.

The aim of supporting both public and private borehole through this temporary measure is to INCREASE AVAILABILITY OF WATER AND ACCESS amongst the IDPs community.

While private boreholes may or may not decide to reduce consumer cost at the end, access to water has increased.
