
Over 1000 Nguru Flood Victims and 14,200 IDP returnees from Gujba Received support
Over 1000 Nguru Flood Victims Received support as 14,200 IDP returnees from Gujba redeemed 26,000 Naira Monthly E-Voucher Each.
Yobe State Emergency Management Agency in an ongoing flood response through the support of NEMA has successfully distributed relief materials to 1078 Flood Victims across 18 Communities in Nguru LGA. The victims who are categories in 3 categories with each categories receiving relief materials depending on severity and available resources.
In another response to the plight of the of returnee IDP from 5 wards (Dadingel, Goniri, Ngurbuwa, Gotala and Mandunari) of Gujba LGA, Yobe SEMA with Support from WFP World Food Programme and Implemented by CCDRN over 14,200 Households successfully received 26,600 Naira E-Voucher and have since redeemed thier Monthly Food Basket.
This Emergency food response by one of the leading Food security actors WFP is coming at a time when the returnees are having restricted access to farmlands due to fear of insecurity and the limited space affected by heavy flooding amidst challenges of post conflict reintegration.
Executive Secretary SEMA while commending this and many partnerships support called on beneficiaries to use items and redeemed food for the intended purpose and called on gatekeepers not to shortchange beneficiaries.
