SEMA Cover 9 LGA’s, 250 Tsangayas for Buni Tsangaya Schools Support Programme.

Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (YOSEMA) has reached out to the third batch of 80 Tsangaya schools in 3 three Local government areas bringing the total 9 out of the 17 LGA’s in Yobe State, so far supported with Food and Non-food items.
In the third batch, the three local government areas that benefited include; Bursari, Nangere and Machina, making one LGA in each of the three Senatorial zones distributed on Wednesday 25th January 2023.
Buni Tsangaya School Support, a project conceived by His Excellency Hon Mai Mala Buni CON was aimed at cushioning the hardships of Tsangaya Teachers and Almajiri students especially those in IDP communities in the line of government interventions for less privilege and vulnerable people and IDPs aimed at building resilience in the post insurgency recovery process.
The support consists of distribution of winter clothes and blankets meant to cushion the effect of the biting cold of this period especially on the Almajiris.
Items distributed for each Tsangaya school include:
Bags of rice, Bags of Maize, Condiments (maggi), Soaps Cartons, nylon mats, plates, cups, used clothes and children wears.
The Executive Secretary of Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Mohammed Goje who was represented by SEMA officials in the three locations said about 475 Tsangaya Schools across the 17 LGAs are targeted for the programme.
He said more LGA’s from each of the three senatorial zones would be picked in the subsequent batches.
Among the beneficiaries were notable Ulamas who offered prayers for the peace, progress and the success of Yobe State and Nigeria in a whole.
