Governor Buni Supports over 100 families of truck drivers

Potiskum is one of the local government areas with the highest number of truck owners and drivers in Nigeria, this is the obvious reason why His Excellency upon his assumption of office in May 2019, decided to build one of the largest trailer parks in northern Nigeria.

Following the destructions caused in southern Nigeria by hoodlums, as a result of the #EndSARS protest, trucks belonging to Potiskum NARTO members were not spared. The eventual burning of trucks lead to loses, thereby making families of drivers and truck assistants helpless, and consequently many households are passing through trying times.

His Excellency while commiserating with NARTO in Potiskum, directed SEMA to mobilise food items to 120 Households, i.e. families of the drivers and other dependants, who rely on the trucks as their source of livelihood.

ES SEMA in person of Dr Mohammed Goje, while sympathising with the families on their loses, hoped that this gesture will serve as a succour to them as their bread winners struggle to pick up from the pieces.

It is worth mentioning that each household received 2 bags of 50kg rice, grains, noodles and condiments.
