Governor Buni reached out to Murza, A farming community Hit by Flood.
In 2020 flood review as at 20th October, Murza a settlement under Dagona Ward of Bade LGA is worst hit in terms of Loss to farmland and produce.
Though a riverine area, this is the first time in a decade that they have witnessed this magnitude of flood and damage to their farms.
Almost every farmer has lost a part or all of their crops at the eve of harvest.
His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni directed SEMA to relocate to Bade and respond to the immediate needs of over 80 communities affected by flood.
ES SEMA along with LGA team and village head of Murza ferried in a local boat for 2hours from Bizi to Commiserate and provide succor to the community.
Sand bags for Embankment provided and machines used for rechannelling the water away from the settlement put in use and immediate food items provided.
Though passing through a difficult times, the determination of the youths in supporting the Embankment is encouraging despite this silent question on their faces “without the farm products , how do we survive this year”
We have included the community as a priority 1, and will ensure mobilising resources to support them through the trying period.
