……..A strategic foresight of Governor Buni’s Early post conflict Recovery in Education
On Thursday 20th October 2022, Yobe State Emergency Management Agency finally handed over GSS Zadawa to the Hon Chairperson of Fika LG Hajia Halima Kyari Joda.
SEMA as directed by His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni through UNDP supported early recovery project is partnering with Yobe State in the areas of Education, Health and Agriculture to support and stabilize communities across the state.
In brief handing over ceremony at the school premises, the executive Secretary of SEMA Dr Mohammed Goje said the project is part of Governor Bunis Post Conflict Educational developmental agenda to ensure adequate educational infrastructure are provided to communities across the state to ensure citizens are empowered and resilient so as to achieve economic prosperity.
Mr Yoshiaki Noguchi who represented the UNDP along side his team were pleased by the speed of the completion, BOQ compliance and most importantly the fact that it is put in to use immediately. This he said will justify the resources spent and Governor Bunis post conflict Educational development.
While receiving on behalf of Local Government, The Executive Chairperson Hajiya Halima Kyari Joda called on the community leaders to ensure local ownership, routine maintenance and sustainability of the infrastructure for the overall development of the community and Yobe state.
GSS Zadawa is a boarding Senior Boys Secondary school.
The Completed Project consists of
1. Solar Reticulated Boreholes
2. Solar street Lights
3. Fully Furnished Admin Block with Toilets
4. Newly Constructed 2 blocks of 3 classroom Each
5. Renovation of 1 Block of 3 class room
6. Fully Furnished 1 Block of Hostel.
7. Additional Study Desk
8. Studens Laundry and Shower rooms
9. Dining Hall
