GOV BUNI FLAGS OFF THE DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD ITEMS TO THE NEEDY IN THE STATE.

No sooner had Governor Buni inaugurated the committee on palliative, the committee swunged into action by flagging off the distribution of food items today Thursday 11th August 2023.with a promise to subsequently conduct the distribution in phases.

During the flagging off ceremony, the Governor informed that the distribution will cut across the 14,500 communities targeting over 80, 000 Households consisting of over 400,000 people.

The Governor was represented by his Deputy His Excellency Hon Idi Barde Gubana ( Wazirin Fune) who was the Deputy chairman of the committee said the target beneficiaries are vulnerable persons such as persons living with disabilities, women head of households, the elderly and students among others.

Inorder to ensure timely and fair distribution of the palliatives in the local government Areas, sub- Committee were constituted with membership drawn from traditional rulers (District Heads and Village Heads), reputable community leaders, religious leaders and representatives of Civil society organizations.

The Governor urged the people of the state to cooperate with the Committee and sub_ Committees for a hitch-free conduct of the assignment and also appealed to people to continue praying for peace,bumper harvest and prosperity.

In his remarks, the executive secretary state emergency Management agency Dr. Mohammad Goje said that they will ensure that the needy recieve the items and are not short changed.

He said over 14,500 communities are expected to recieve the palliatives.

He further stressed that the distribution will continue in Zone B at Damagum Fune local government area as well as Jakusko in Zone C respectively.
