Food Security Assesement.
15th to 20th October 2023.

Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO-UN), and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) carried out a joint field mission to assess the Food security situation in Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Fune, Fika, Jakusko, Potiskum, Bade, Nangere, Nguru, and Karasuwa in Yobe State.

The mission aims to engage with LGA leadership, key community members, and humanitarian partners to understand the impact of the dry spell experienced in June/July 2023 on Agricultural production levels and the current pest infestation on yet-to-be-cultivated farmlands.

The mission also seeks to gather insights on the outlook for 2024. The mission will support advocacy and resource mobilization to government, partners and private organization and individuals.
