Happy Democracy Day 2025

On this day, June 12, as Nigeria marks yet another Democracy Day, I celebrate a true democrat, a visionary leader, and a pacesetter—His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, CON.

From humble beginnings as a Ward councilor, he rose through the ranks to become a two-term elected Governor—a remarkable journey rooted in service, humility, and dedication. Governor Buni has consistently answered the call to serve, not by seeking positions, but by being chosen through trust and destiny. He is a leader who listens, who leads with compassion, and whose devotion to serving the poor and vulnerable remains a reference.

As a devoted student of Governor Buni’s school of leadership, I proudly reflect on his legacy today. I remember him for breaking barriers and setting new standards—particularly as a silent force behind the historic 2015 power shift from an incumbent to the opposition, a milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey.

I honor him for empowering youth in governance and creating future generations by giving youths opportunities to use their potentials. Most importantly, I celebrate his transformative impact on Yobe State— in infrastructure, healthcare, security, livelihoods, and public service delivery.

Today, and always, I will remember His Excellency for serving God and humanity with grace and purpose.
