In line with the commitment of His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, CON, to strengthen inclusive recovery, peacebuilding, and social cohesion across Yobe State, the project is steadily advancing efforts aimed at sustainable reintegration and community reconciliation.

Key milestones achieved so far include:

1. Successful entry and engagement meetings with critical stakeholders to strengthen coordination, collaboration, and shared ownership of the intervention.

2. Identification and mapping of 343 beneficiaries across Potiskum, including vulnerable households and PFA-NSAGs

3. Establishment of Community Targeting Committees to ensure transparency, inclusiveness, and community-driven participation in the selection process.

4. Training of 40 community leaders on Transitional Justice and Reconciliation, equipping them with practical tools to foster peaceful coexistence and community healing.

5. Community sensitisation campaigns to enhance awareness, acceptance, and local ownership of reintegration efforts.

6. Ongoing weekly live radio programmes amplifying messages of reconciliation, social cohesion, and peaceful reintegration.

7. Orientation sessions and skills acquisition training for selected beneficiaries, preparing them for sustainable livelihoods and economic independence.

Upon successful completion of the skills training in the upcoming week, each of the 343 beneficiaries will receive ₦300,000 as start-up capital, providing critical support for economic reintegration and self-reliance.

The Executive Secretary of Yobe SEMA, Dr. Mohammed Goje, emphasised that sustained collaboration between government and partners remains central to restoring hope, rebuilding trust, and laying a strong foundation for lasting peace and resilience in Yobe State.
