Support Reaches Jajimaji Windstorm Victims
Yobe SEMA under the directive of His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni has reached out to 191 windstorm victims. Situated at Jajimaji, Karasuwa local government area, the victims particularly come from a low socioeconomic background.
While drastic majors are being taken with a view to extending more support to the victims and other vulnerable people across the state, the Executive Secretary of SEMA said “This support is aimed at providing the most basic necessities to the vulnerable. God willing, we expect this will reduce the burden on households by giving their breadwinners the momentum to go out to work, thereby getting their homes back to shape”.
During the support distribution event, the Chairman Karasuwa LGA thanked Governor Buni for the timely response. Furthermore, while supplicating to Allah to prevent further reoccurrence of the incident, he also prayed to Allah to guide and protect the Governor, and the entire state as a whole.
Speaking on behalf of the victims, Mallam Usman Jajimaji said, “the windstorm has indeed devastated our homes, however we are all thankful to Allah, for in Yobe, talakawa are at ease, since Governor Buni never gets tired always responding swiftly to our needs. Hence, we will continue praying for his success”.
